Bowen Therapy is a holistic approach and hands-on therapy that helps in relieving pain. It has been around for more than 50 years, successfully treating thousands of people suffering from a variety of illnesses. Bowen Therapy was developed by the late Tom Bowen in Australia. Gentle moves over precise points of the body can prompt the body to relieve pain without extensive treatment. As the body responds to these signals, the client will often feel profound relaxation and release of tension. Bowen Therapy is extremely gentle and is appropriate for anyone, from new born to the elderly.
Bowen Therapy is different than other therapies such as chiropractic, massage and physical. These therapies attempt to achieve function by treating the muscles, joints and bones directly. They are used to “enforce” function with spinal adjustments, deep massage and stretching/strengthening exercises. Bowen Therapy treats the body, not the symptoms. There is a wide variety of acute and chronic conditions for which Bowen Therapy is used. Some of these issues include, but are not limited to, improvement in mobility, reduced stress and pain, increased energy and circulation, lymphatic drainage and detoxification.
Here is a short list of conditions that respond well to Bowen Therapy:

ReflexologyReflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears that correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes, reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation, and helps promote the nature function of the related areas of the body.
There are more than 7,200 nerve endings in each foot which have extensive interconnections through the spinal cord and brain with all areas of the body. Reflexology is very effective in reducing stress by putting the client into a state known as the “parasympathetic” mode of the nervous system, essentially helping to balance the physical, mental and emotional aspects of the body.
